Afrah Development and relief Agency was established in 2004 by 8 members to offer relief and development services to the vulnerable communities across Uganda and got fully registered with the civil wars and political turmoil in 80s and 90s which affected several communities in term of social-economic progress, this led to collapse of infrastructures, increased levels of poverty, degradation of environment, hence a need sufficed to empowering the disadvantaged people of Uganda through participatory development and relief programs based on human dignity, self-reliance and social justice.

To work towards a general improvement in economical, social welfare, health and education of human being to become a national value to which all sections of the community are geared.
To provide relief and emergency services for the basic needs of displaced people and victims of natural disasters and man-made calamities without any discrimination where needed.
To help provide educational, health, social and rural development, conserve environment and alternative energy resources in areas of need to improve the standard of living and productivity.
To coordinate and support the activities of other organizations working in the same field for speedy and efficient implementation of relief and community development.
